Goodbye vodafone

 after returning from hours at 3 different vodafone store
kevin: Vodafone thinks we are terrorists or scammers. 
cathy: what? why? 
kevin: we are now banned from using any vodafone services.
cathy: What?!
 it turns out that either kevin's NIE wasn't fully hooked up yet when we signed up for vodafone, or it just seemed weird 3 sims were bought in 2 days...
 either way, according to vodafone, now that the computer has decided on blocking Kevin's NIE, there's nothing they can do..
 bye vodafone. thanks for nothing

apparently our vodafone contract had been terminated for no reason. did you know…. that usually to cancel a contract from vodafone is literally impossible. our local friends told us that it usually would take many phone calls and endless loop to cancel a vodafone contract. well, we did it. without asking! woohoo. we win.

No Service

Today, a holiday. our newly registered SIM cards in 2 of our phones and 1 ipad micr-sim have all stopped working. They all say “No Service. Vodafone online system returns a message saying user cannot be found in system when we tried logging in. Vodafone customer service phone number doesn’t get us very far, cannot get pass the automated voice system…. so what now?

NIE madness

Upon arriving in Spain, we proceeded to get a NIE number for Kevin. Day 1 Without doing much research or simply just being naive, we arrived at the police station to find out that NIE number is only given out from 9 - 13. It was 14:00 and we have missed it. Vodafone store clerk: ok, now we have photocopied everything and charged you the activation fee..... Can I have a number that we can reach you at?
Cathy: hmm what for?
Vodaofone store clerk: your sim cards will be ready in a day, or tomorrow, or the day after. we will call you so you can come pick it up.
Cathy: .... it takes up to 48 hours to activate a sim card?
Vodafone: Yes, welcome to Spain.
